This is an emphatically important exotic ethnographic relic imported from the Vodou traditions of Haiti. It is a ceremonial spirit repository for the Gede and Bossou spirits made by the legendary Vodou priest, Pierrot Barra. The repository has been made using a variety of found materials ~ cardboard, old dolls, sequins, fabrics, beading and more. It’s magnificence is matched by its creator, Pierrot Barra, a famous houngan who worked with both hands and was president of the infamous Bizango society. This museum piece measures over 27” in height, 17” in width by 15” in depth and shipping in the U.S. is estimated at $150. I will reimburse any overpayment of shipping. All auctions are unconditionally guaranteed and proceeds benefit our sanctuary in Northern Arizona, Littleorphananimals.org. Thank you for your support!
