A Bristol native and Vietnam vet, Mike started on Big D FM doing 7PM-midnight, but replaced Gary DeGraide on the 7PM-midnight shift at WDRC AM April 8, 1973. A talented musician, he frequently accompanied the records, in studio, by beating on a drum pad. Mike always signed off his show by saying goodnight to his sweetheart, Karen, whose voice was heard on tape reciprocating. Mike recorded several records for CBS and Columbia Records that received extensive airplay in parts of the U.S. and Canada. While he was working in Toronto in 1981, Mike recorded an album called "Do She Want Love" (Bomb Records #7036).

Most radio stations, if not all, in fact, pull some kind of press stunt now and then to gain attention and maybe land a few new listeners. CHUM, an AM station in Canada, is no different. Throughout the '50s and into the '60s, this Canadian radio station had a number of its disc jockeys record songs and release them to the public. Many of the songs were done somewhat tongue in cheek. By the time the '80s rolled around, the novelty recordings had mostly faded from thought.

The idea was brought back in 1981 and dressed up a little for disc jockey Michael Holland. The resulting album was titled Do She Want Love. It was released under the Bomb Records label, and to the surprise of many, made a decent stand. Its title song even found its way onto the music charts, climbing into the Top 20 and holding its own for about two months.
