This is a gorgeous F. B. Rogers Silverplate Shell-Shaped Footed Serving Bowl.
The bowl is in the shape of a scalloped shell, and the tab handle has a mythical beast...perhaps a fantastical fish...with a shell motif and swirling waves.
It's a striking, dramatic piece to accent your table - it would be so perfect for a seafood salad.
It measures 12 1/2" long, and 10 1/2" wide. 2 3/8" deep.
Very nice condition with minimal signs of age/wear.
Marked on the back:
F. B. Rogers Silver Co. 1883
and the numbers 1730.
