Malayan Prince Ship Real Photo Postcard Hit by U-432 in 1942

 

An unused real photo postcard of the Malayan Prince. Built in 1926

At 13.01 hours on 9 Jun, 1942, U-432 fired four torpedoes at the convoy BX-23-A south of Cape Sable and damaged the Kronprinsen  after 1 minute 32 seconds. Another torpedo missed its target, but damaged the Malayan Prince after 2 minutes 5 seconds.

The Malayan Prince was apparently only slightly damaged, repaired and returned to service in July 1942.

Broken up at Inverkeithing in July 1950.
