ENGLISH MARIGOLD aka Pot Marigold. This introduced, low-lying (18") wildflower has many uses. Works great for borders or in containers. The dried petals are a substitute for saffron. This was also used to treat smallpox and measles during the civil war. If deadheaded, this plant will bloom profusely from mid-summer until first frost. This plant does best in cooler climates but will grow just about anywhere there is 5-6 hrs of sun. In warmer states a little filtered sun in the afternoon will be needed for continuous blooms through fall. Not picky about soil. Pretty much a carefree plant after seedlings are established. Blooms are 3-4" across, colors are orange to yellow, no two blooms are exactly alike. English Marigolds will reseed if later blooms are left alone to drop seed.1oz = 4000+ Quality seeds per order.
