PFAS65a   An amazing opportunity for any military collector being a hand signed first day cover for Captain Cook Centenary hand signed by SIX historic people awarded the George Cross.  There is accompanying ephemera with the souvenir so I was able to indentify five of the signatures (see below) but the sixth I am unsure - there is a signed letter inside too but I am unsure if this facimile It is outstanding condition (ex minus).  Details of the signings below...

Henry Harwood Flintoff (3 September 1930 5 June 2020, born Harwood Henry Flintoff) was a farm worker and recipient of the George Cross, Britain's highest civilian award for gallantry, after rescuing a farmer from a bull.

Michael Kenneth Pratt GC (born 15 November 1954) is a former constable of the Victoria Police Force in Melbourne, Australia, who received the George Cross for outstanding bravery in his efforts to thwart the armed robbery of a bank in 1976.

John Albert Axel Gibson, DSO, DFC (24 August 1916 1 July 2000) was a Royal Air Force (RAF) officer and a flying ace of the Second World War. He was credited with the destruction of 12 enemy aircraft.

Eynon Hawkins (26 June 1920 17 December 2001) was an Albert Medal and George Cross World War II hero and a Welsh rugby union and rugby league footballer who played in the 1940s and 1950s. For his great courage in saving life at sea, Hawkins was awarded the Albert medal in bronze, which he received from King George VI at Buckingham Palace on 16 November 1943. He later also received the Lloyds medal for bravery at sea.

Anthony John Gledhill GC (born 10 March 1938 in Doncaster[1]), known as Tony Gledhill, [2] was awarded the George Cross for the heroism he displayed on 25 August 1966[1] in chasing and subduing armed criminals.
