together. This was probably a publicity photo for Buffalo Bill's Wild
West Show.
Chief Sitting Bull was a defender of Native lands in the Dakotas. In the Great
Sioux Wars which culminated in the 1876 Battle of Little Bighorn,
Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse led united tribes to victory against
General George Armstrong Custer.
