ReplacementRadios, one of the largest factory audio/video websites, has branched out!! If you’ve been to our site, you know we have a HUGE selection of OEM radios and compatible accessories. Now we’re offering a few select products here too. Same great ReplacementRadios quality.....in a new location.
If you've got a 2003-2005 (and some 2006) fullsize GM truck or SUV with a radio that gives you errors or will not load or eject CDs (or perhaps it does so noisily), this is likely the CD drive you need. It should work in most 2003-2006 GM trucks, vans* and SUVs* that have radios like those pictured below. However, it is up to you to confirm you either have one of the radio part numbers listed below or that your radio takes this drive based on a visual comparison. (*=see note below)
A few radio part numbers we show to use this drive (from our quick and limited research) are 10356164, 10357894, 10359566, 10359576, 15104155, 15104156, 15138488, 15184932, 15184933, 15198700, 15198701, 15138488, 15837848, 15216905, 1529 5371and 15295372. HOWEVER, it is up to you to pop the top of your radio case off and confirm it is the same drive.
*This is NOT the drive used in any cars, minivans or the 2002-2003 Trailblazer, Envoy, Bravada, S10, Blazer, Sonoma, Savanna or Express. If in doubt, do yourself a favor and pop the top off the radio so you can make sure the top of the drive looks like the one pictured.
Not a radio. This is a CD drive ONLY!
Make sure to confirm this is the drive you have BEFORE ordering. Especially if you have a 2006 or newer radio. It is very easy to pop your top cover off.
In rare instances, you may find replacing the drive does not solve your problem. Occasionally the control board on the bottom of the drive is defective and, if this is the case, replacing the drive will not change anything. You must replace the board too. This is very rare but we do see it a couple times out of every 100 purchases. So you are taking a very slight risk by not getting a new board too, but it is pretty insignificant. Unfortunately we no longer carry the board.
Assembly is fairly easy and we do include written instructions. This drive comes without the GM Delco control board on the bottom but this is VERY easily swapped from your defective drive. There are two small phillips screws and two ribbon cables with quick dis-connects. You will also need to remove the bracket from the back of your defective drive and swap it to the new one. This is also VERY easy, as it's just two 3/16 hex screws.
Do not attempt this repair with the radio still plugged in! This is your one and only caution regarding this.
