Title: Untitled 2021

Signed and dated in the front and back. I did not want to sign it in the front because since it is an abstract the signature would guide the position of the artwork and I would prefer the buyer to decide that. The paper is glossy and I had to scan the artwork instead of photographing it to avoid glare. The glare you see in some of these is actually in the artwork itself and that is what it makes it so special. Personally they have a calming effect in my brain and a sensation of rhythm with nature. The three-dimensionality and depth of this work is simply astonishing. Once you have it in your hands you will understand my point because you probably haven't seen anything like this before.

Size: 5x7 inches

Medium: Kodak Silver gelatin RC B&W glossy photo paper

This is a Chemigram. Look it up! I've been doing them for a long time and until now I never knew the name of this medium. While I was doing this for almost 10 years without any outside influence my style became more developed and streamlined that other artists who rely on the element of chance most of the time. This is a result of my own combination and manipulation of different chemicals mostly darkroom photo developer fixer and other unconventional household liquids. Everything is done camera-less over exposed photographic Kodak B&W paper and in plain daylight. The result is a combined painting technique using an alternative photographic process. Do Not get confused with the rest of my work that is done on digital photo paper using color inks. The process is completely different as well as the final outcome.

I have an extensive curriculum of exhibitions awards and media articles that you can review when searching Jose Tonito in your browser

I invented unique techniques where I paint by hand directly into different types of blank photo papers using water color inks and some other unconventional household chemicals to create reactions that are instantly register in the paper.

I don't use a camera digital printer or any other form of reproduction. Each painting is one of a kind.
