There's ten different cards in the Tove Jansson’s animal themed series from 1941.
Tove was an opponent of war and these animals reflected it.
These charming cards not only featured her signature humorous animal characters but also showcased an enchanting world of animals dressed in human attire.
The Art cards that Tove Jansson produced during the 1940’s is explained by the fact that she then needed to take on the illustration assignments that were available to keep the economy going.
Compared to many other commissions, these cards were relatively quick to produce and easily transferable into funds for travelling.
These cards were printed in the middle of the war so only a small part was saved.
Very hard to find and they are sought-after collectible rarities today.
Also available packaged in passepartout with authenticity, ask the price.
