The Door Strike is an OEM component specifically designed for Whirlpool top-loading washing machines. Found at the bottom center of the washer door, the door strike functions as a secure contact point when closing the door.

Crafted from durable cast metal with a moisture-sealed interior, the door strike features precisely indexed grooves and notches that mate with corresponding alignment pins on the washer chassis. 

Causes of a bad door strike include wear from chafing rubber seals collecting residue over time, loosened fasteners, or impact warping from repeated closure force.

Symptoms of a bad door strike include:

• Misaligned or loose door that does not close fully 
• Door unable to latch or seal properly
• Potential water leaks due to ineffective seal
