This photo album is truly one-of-a-kind, meticulously crafted from genuine wood and filled with images from the 1940s, a period marked by global conflict. The album poignantly captures the stark realities of war, emphasizing the casualties that accompany such turmoil. Within its vintage pages, one can discover a wealth of rich imagery—though I have chosen to feature only a select few due to uncertainty regarding the complete display. Additionally, the album includes articles from newspapers of the time, showcasing not only soldiers but also renowned battleships, aircraft, prominent leaders, countries, and much more.
The papers have become increasingly brittle, turned brown, and exhibit rips along the edges; however, all images and articles remain fully intact, highly readable, and well-preserved. Additionally, I have placed each page inside moisture-free plastic sleeves to prolong the life of the memorabilia.
The album comprises a total of 49 pages, featuring images on both the front and back. In addition to these pages, there are several extra blank sheets and articles that remain unglued. The album weighs a total of 8 pounds.
Due to its age, all pages are no longer secured by the original binding string.
