10 1/2” American Character Toni doll from the 1950s. She is wearing a rare tagged outfit that originally belonged to a 10 ½” Miss Nancy Ann Storybook doll. The doll’s hair is still in the original set, looped in a top bun, with longer hair below. The hair does have some flyaways, so it’s not perfect. The back of her arms, between her shoulders, and on her buttocks have some light marks that might come off with a little cleaning and there is some light scratching in the plastic between her shoulder blades. Her outfit is a two-piece Egyptian-print skirt and jacket trimmed with gold braid. The jacket is tagged “styled by Nancy Ann/Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls, Inc. San Francisco, California.” Overall the outfit is in very good shape, but has some very minor flaws. The gold trim is mostly off around the jacket collar, there are two tiny spots that you have to hunt to see, and the edging trim of both skirt (at the waistline) and on the jacket is curling up in spots so doesn’t lay as it should.
