Unmarked 14” hard plastic American Character Sweet Sue doll from the 1950s. She has auburn brown hair (skull cap style wig). She is a bend knee walker (head turns when legs move). The plastic at her shoulder seam is separating, and the plastic seam at her crotch is also separating. There are some paint rubs on the back of her calves. She is wearing a bride’s dress with a half slip and bloomers underneath. We don’t know if it’s original to her. The dress has some issues. There is lots of tearing in the tulle overlay netting around the bottom, a couple of small holes in the satin fabric, and one larger tear near bottom hem. The elastic around the arms has lost its elasticity, so the sleeves hand a little long on her. Her slip and bloomers are held on only with a safety pin, the tulle netting on the bottom of the slip is also torn, and there are some holes in the fabric of the bloomers. The dress could use a light pressing or steaming to get rid of some of the wrinkles. Doll would benefit from a light cleaning.
