Vintage 1961 advertising calendar from "Crump's Studio", Vicksburg, Mississippi.  The studio was owned by noted African American self-taught photographer Johnnie Crump, who documented the life and times of Vicksburg and the surrounding area during the turbulent civil rights struggles 1940s-1960s.

The calendar is an interesting historical paper, documenting the artist's photography studio, and the historical time it was in existence.

The photography studio shared space with Johnnie Crump's wife Clara, who owned the Launderette and Stop and Shop next door.  The Launderette is noted on the calendar. Please see last photo provided - it is a screen shot of an advertisement of Clara Crump's businesses, from a civil rights newspaper that was associated with Johnnie's brother, noted civil rights activist Frank Crump. The screenshot is provided for information only, not included in the listing, which is for the calendar only.

Clara Crump was also a noted member of the Vicksburg community.  Both Mr. and Mrs. Crump were involved with the civil rights movement, and were friends with Medgar Evers and his wife.

The calendar front has a pinup model lithograph.  The calendar measures approx. 7 3/4 inches x 6 3/4 inches, as shown in the photos.  The calendar folds out to show the 12 month pages.

It is in good vintage condition with light age wear.  Buyer to pay shipping.  I will package carefully in a box and ship promptly.
