ANtique DECO Chrysoprase marcasite RING. This ring really shows the true color of the stone of venus with genuine chrysoprase and marcasite surrounding this large stone.  Once you own a piece of antique chrysoprase you will find yourself entranced with this fascinating stone and start wanting to own more of it. Chrysoprase, the stone of Venus, the Roman Goddess of Love and Supreme Ruler of the Heart, was first identified around 23A.D.  Highly prized in the Middle Ages, it was considered a magical stone that was “re-charged” at the half-moon by placing it out in nature.  Chrysoprase was said to bring good health and harmonious longevity to marriages.
The color is a liquid green and in some of the photos you see is looks whitish on the edges. What is neat is that there is no white in this stone and the camera sees the eerieness of this with the white cast. The setting is large ( over 3/4" wide) and this is set in a very fancy etched and raised relief setting. The ring is a size 4 1/2 and is solid sterling. It is marked Uncase ( an arrow around a U on the inside band and the word sterling)  The marcasites add a sparkle around this most wonderful antique stone that has a barrel shape when you see it from the side. Has not been polished because the patina on this is really much nicer in person. Since this is Irreplaceable there can be no returns on this sale. Please use photos to make your decisions.
