Comments: Her 2006 obituary in the Portland Press Herald reads in part: Edna Constance Langley, 93, passed away peacefully May 17, 2006 at the Monarch Center in Saco, where she was a resident for the past three years. She was born on Aug. 5, 1912 in Cornish, the daughter of Vita (Thurston) West and Ruric West. Edna attended schools in Cornish and Conway, N.H. before graduating from Cornish High School in 1932. In 1941, she married William Langley and they made their home on Acton Ridge until his death in 1950. In the early 30's, she worked at Hoyt's Inn in E. Madison, N.H. She also served as a nanny, bookkeeper and worked for 30 years as a clerk and sales manager for Woolworth's Department Stores.
