This is an original, new Volvo 31210174 handsfree integration harness.  This is used to integrate a handsfree phone kit (like the Motorola IHF1000 bluetooth carkit) into the vehicle audio system on select model year S40, V50 and C30 vehicles with the standard (or low) sound systems.  When the handsfree system is active, the radio audio is muted and the handsfree kit audio is routed to the front speakers.

This kit features the 8pin connector to mate the the Volvo Bluetoth Handsfree system (a Volvo-OEM version of the Motorola IHF1000/1500/1700 carkit).  These connections can be used to connect other handsfree systems or accessories as well.  Available on the connector is:

• VBatt - constant battery power
• Ignition - switched 12V power
• Ground - vehicle power ground
• Mute - active-low mute trigger
• Speaker + - differential speaker input to the switching relay (will play through front speakers when Mute is active)
• Speaker - - differential speaker input to the switching relay (will play through front speakers when Mute is active)
