This photo was removed from an album belonging to prominent Philadelphia engineer Samuel Lightfoot Smedley. The album originally consisted almost entirely of photographs of city leaders and officials, many of them being engineers, architects and surveyors like himself. (See below for additional information.) Measures approximately 4.25 x 6.5 including mount. Condition: This is an original photograph, not a copy or reproduction. It is in excellent condition. Comments: This photograph comes from the estate of Samuel Lightfoot Smedley (1832-1894.) Smedley served as the city of Philadelphia's Chief Engineer & Surveyor from 1872 until his resignation in 1893.
