The Chase – Vol. 2
The Chase is an exciting Old Time Radio series in which every episode includes, well, a chase. It may be an adventure story, a crime story, or even science fiction, but there will always be the chase.
NBC first envisioned The Chase as a new Television feature. In the mid and late 50s many radio programs were being considered for the new medium of televison. The premise of this dramatic series was that many of life situations placed their subjects in a ‘chase’ of one type or another. A chase for fame or from peril. A chase to beat the clock, to escape death. The Chase added to the suspense and drama with the question of who was the hunter and the hunted? With fast-paced scripts the series’ plots and themes focused primarily on fear inducing pursuits of one form or another. Thus each episode was fraught with drama, tension and to keep the listener clinging to every moment of THE CHASE! NBC’s began the TV version in May 1953. This collection includes 24 original half-hour radio broadcasts on 12 CDs, digitally remastered and restored for sparkling quality.
