For your consideration is a vintage paper mache figure.  This is one of many from an estate that I recently acquired.  This one is not marked but some are marked with Xalisco Mexico and the letters or initials of BEL and BAR I think.  These are hand made in Xalisco.  Xalisco is a town in Mexico and population in 2005 was 21,899 so it is a small town.  This figure is of a woman with a basket of flowers.  She is paper mache and attached to a painted wood base.  There is great detail in the work and very well done folk art.  There is some damage to the skirt but not missing anything.  She is 14" tall.  Make sure to check out the other figures I am also listing.
