Millefiori means "1000 flowers" in Italian. It refers to a technique made popular by Venetians in the second century B.C. The process of creating millefiori consists of heating, stretching, and bundling colored glass canes to form intricate designs. These bundles of canes are then slices thinly and these slices applied to other objects for ornamentation. In MILLEFIORI MADE EASY, the process has been adapted to Fimo (or other) polymer clay to produce the same stunning effects, without the tools and skills necessary to work with molten glass.
