COVER: MAN & WOMAN: A special report on how some couples are learning new ways to make a marriage work.

ENTERTAINMENT: A Mystery: Harold Pinter on Pinter, By Judith Crist. "Here is a close-up of the playwright, who is bored by critics who look for symbols in his work."

CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG -- Dick Van Dyke and his magic car caper through Bavaria: What has four wheels and flies? The gleaming, whizzing answer, left, is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. And what in the name of outboard brakes is that? CCBB -- piloted by Dick Van Dyke -- is the land-sea-and-air car dreamed up by novelist Ian Fleming when he wasn't busy with James Bond. In the eyes of six-year-olds and up, the racer may give 007 a run. But who cares? With a dash of chrome, CCBB roars out of the pages of the book and whirls the Caractacus Potts family into a film musical flawlessly timed for the holiday throngs. Chitty takes off with a bang on page 84. [NICE article, multiple photos!]
