Thunder God is a signed and numbered limited edition print by Jason Williamson. Published by Graystone Press, it is an edition of 500.

About the Artist: Born in 1926, Jason Williamson spent his early years in Virginia, where he first became interested in art. Painting was always his primary interest, and from the beginning he favored watercolor painting. Following service in the United States Air Force during World War II, he attended Emory and Henry College in Virginia.

Williamson's art training was received at the Vesper George School of Art in Boston, Massachusetts from 1947 to 1950, where he specialized in design and illustration. After graduation, he served as art director for a pharmaceutical company in Bristol, Tennessee.

Williamson later joined the art department of Plough Inc. of Memphis, Tennessee before becoming a free-lance illustrator. Soon after establishing his commercial art studio in Memphis, Williamson was asked to assume the advertising college art department directorship at the Memphis Academy of Art in 1960. He accepted the position while still maintaining his commercial studio. He continued to teach and operate the studio simultaneously for the next ten years.

In 1970 he relinquished both studio and instructing in order to open the Golden Fleece Art Gallery in Memphis. In 1976 the gallery was moved to Carefree, Arizona. Williamson operated the gallery with his wife Peggy for the next 17 years. For the last five years Jason was the Golden Fleece's sole featured artist. The gallery was closed in 1987 when Peggy decided to retire.

In 1978 Williamson was selected for signature membership in the American Watercolor Society. This was followed in 1979 with signature membership in the National Watercolor Society. Most of Williamson's painting has involved experimentation and developing techniques and styles of watercolor painting. He had over fifty one-man shows to his credit.
