THE GROUCHO LETTERS & LOVE, GROUCHO
by Groucho Marx (2nd book edited by Miriam Marx Allen)
Simon & Schuster & Faber & Faber, First Editions, 1967/1992
Condition: Good+ in Good+ dj & VG+ to NF in VG+ dust jacket
Here is the first Printing of THE GROUCHO LETTERS, containing letters from Groucho Marx and sometimes the replies to them (from such notables as Fred Allen, T.S. Eliot, George S. Kaufman and other Marx family members). The second book, published 25 years later, collects letters to his daughter Miriam over the years, plus notes by Miriiam and photos from her collection. 560 pages in all. The older book has some moisture "waving" throughout and some other modest to moderate general wear, mainly on the jacket. LOVE, GROUCHO has some white spotting on the covers, but barely any other flaws; the dj has two scratches on the back cover and a bit of other modest wear. This is must reading for Groucho fans, and the first editions are collectible (the first for its age and the second for its odd scarcity).
