Vintage original Final Draft script from the popular 1990's football-themed television sitcom, EVENING SHADE, created by Linda Bloodworth-Thomason. It is from the very first episode (Season 1, Episode 1), which was entitled, A Day in the Life of Wood Newton, written by Linda Bloodworth-Thomason. Dated August 8, 1990, it consists of 107 pages plus the title page and a one-page SETS list and a one-page NARRATION, followed by page 1. The final draft pages are printed on yellow stock with revisions on white (rev. 8/9/90), pink (rev. 8/10/90) and blue (rev. 8/10/90 II) stock, all of which have been 3-hole punched and bound with two metal grommets between an off-white front and back cardstock cover. This script was printed on a serrated page stock as indicated by the markings along the right edge of each sheet.
This vintage original Final Draft script is complete in overall very fine- condition. There is a small water stain on the bottom left corner of the front cover which affect various pages throughout the script in the same area. There are no missing pages, tears, or other flaws. There is no handwritten notes or other similar items present in this example.
Evening Shade is an American sitcom television series that aired on CBS from September 21, 1990, to May 23, 1994. The series stars Burt Reynolds as Wood Newton, an ex-professional football player for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who returns to rural Evening Shade, Arkansas, to coach a high-school football team with a long losing streak. Reynolds personally requested to use the Steelers as his character's former team, because he was a fan. The general theme of the show is the appeal of small-town life. Episodes often ended with a closing narration by Ossie Davis, as his character Ponder Blue, summing up the events of the episode, always closing with "... in a place called Evening Shade." The opening segment included clips from around Arkansas, including the famous McClard's Bar-B-Q, which is situated on Albert Pike Blvd. and South Patterson St. in Hot Springs National Park. The cast includes Marilu Henner, Michael Jeter, Jay R. Ferguson, Hal Holbrook, Charles Durning, Elizabeth Ashley, Ann Wedgeworth, Charlie Dell, Candace Hutson, and Jacob Parker. |
