This variety produces a McIntosh type apple with sweet vinous flavor, but not all of Mac's perfumery aromatics. The Cortland apple skin is bright red overlaid with darker red streaks. Tart and tangy white crisp flesh; Cortland apples are one of the best salad apples because it doesn't brown quickly. The Cortland apples hang on the tree better than McIntosh, and more crisp in hot weather. The Cortland apple tree is well-suited to freezing temperatures. Vigorous, long-lived tree is annually productive and starts bearing early. Please see below for further information on our organically grown Cortland apple trees for sale.
