Vintage original 26.75 x 37 in. "country of origin" Mexican poster from the 1960's Mexican horror mystery thriller, LA SANGRE DE NOSTRADAMUS, released in 1962 and directed by Federico Curiel. Vampire hunters track down a vampire (German Robles) and attempt to steal the ashes from his coffin in order to stop him from reviving nightly. The cast includes Julio Aleman, Domingo Soler, Manver, and Rosario Durcal.
The design features great artwork and an unusual design that depicts the face of the vampire Nostradamus ( Germán Robles), his fangs dripping with blood, which is rendered inside of a large human eye as he reacts to a bloody hand holding a flaming torch. Unrestored and folded as originally issued, this vintage original "country of origin" Mexican poster is in fair+ condition only with small chips, tears, and creases in the borders; the right half of the top horizontal foldline has split completely with partial splits in the left half of this foldline; a clean 3.25 in. horizontal tear above the word "Nostradamus" at the bottom which is repeated just beneath the vampire's chin and a similar but 7 in. long horizontal tear along the top of his forehead; and small surface creases from handling over time. The rich color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading and this vampire horror film poster is a great candidate for linen-backing with minor restoration. |
