Great design for both men and women. Typical of the period, this authentically styled shirt features a keyhole neckline and half sleeves. Re-enactors will appreciate the historical accuracy and details like texture in the weave of the fabric. See close-up photos for details. Made of 100% pure cotton so it wicks away moisture - cool in summer, warm in winter.
Limited quantities, while supplies last.
Measurement Chart: Remember these are meant to fit a little full in style of that period, usually worn belted. Length varies proportionately but in most cases hem will come to upper thigh. These run slightly small compared to other styles so please check my measurements below, and if in doubt you are better to go up a size.
Medium: 46" chest, 32" long from shoulder seam to hem
Large: 48" chest, 33" long (I'm 5'10" 205 lbs, with a 44" chest - this size fits me OK but I finally went larger, more room to move)
X-Large: 50" chest, 34" long from shoulder seam to hem
XX-Large: 52" chest, 35" long from shoulder seam to hem
You're welcome to send me your height, weight and chest size, I'll be happy to pick best fit for you.
Like many of the styles from Get Dressed For Battle (GDFB) & SAY this shirt is historically accurate and has a beautiful hand-made look. See the web site 'Hurstwic, LLC - Research and Training in Combat Methods of the Viking Era';
The tunic was pulled on over the head. There were usually no fasteners, although some tunics had a simple button and loop of thread to fasten the neck opening. A keyhole neckline was the most common, although many other shapes were used for the neck opening for both men and women. Comments: This is tunic I wear for day to day. Meant to be worn belted, attractive on both men and women, plus completely authentic looking. Altogether well made, good materials, but may contain some small 'flaws' characteristic of being handmade in India. Honestly, they just add to the look though. I recommend hand wash in cool water, or just take it down to the river and beat it on the rocks every Spring. I'm a collector and a weekend warrior. I sell what I own and can recommend. See my seller ratings and buy with confidence. Plus I ship fast, often within hours of receiving an order. |
