The jar is glass with a plastic red screw-on lid.  On the front of the jar there is a design in the glass of a liberty bell surrounded by stars in an oval.  There is a date "1776" in the design.  It is 8 inches tall.  Instant coffee was in the jar when it was issued as a commemorative jar.
