In 1989, Fisher Price created a village of collectible houses, accessories, and people that could be manipulated via magnetic keys. They called this village Precious Places. The village was interconnected by special elevated sidewalks that animals, people, and accessories could traverse using the magnetic key. In addition, many of the buildings possessed special features that could be controlled utilizing these magnetic keys (e.g. turn on the lights, manipulate ceiling fans, rock cradles, open doors etc.). Each building and accessory set afforded its own unique key.

Here for your consideration is one, 100% complete add-on accessory set to this "magic world," the HTF Precious Places #5155 Best Friends Pet Shop. This set was only manufactured from 1989 to 1990. The set itself includes a pet shop building with purple paper litho "siding" on the outside walls. One side wall sports a magnified peep window to see inside the pet shop. The Pet Shop's interior lithos portray an assortment of pets and pet supplies that are for sale. One of the interior walls of the Pet Shop features a permanently attached "aquarium" with a small metal fish inside. The fish "swims" around the aquarium using the aqua magnetic key that is a included in this set. This "magic" key also unlocks the back wall of the building, turns on the light, moves the parrot on its perch back and forth, opens the front door, and helps the cat move to and fro both inside the Pet Shop and out on the sidewalk. Other accessories consist of: a small, pink old-fashioned cash register with litho, a lavender store counter, a purple bird perch, a sign advertising the Pet Shop, an aqua magnetic key with animal litho, and two sidewalk pieces, one curved and one straight. The building and the sidewalk pieces are elevated so the child can insert the key underneath these structures and easily manipulate the animals. The animals consist of: Cuddly Kitty and Perchy Parrot. Cuddly Kitty is a light yellow cat with orange stripes and a bright pink collar that has a blue ribbon on the front. His inner ears and nose are pink and he possesses blue dot eyes. Perchy Parrot displays aqua green feathers with a pink chest, pink cheeks, and a pink stripe running down the front of his long tail feathers. His beak, feet, and rings circling his eyes are all yellow. His feet are shaped so that he can perch on the bird perch.

This is a darling set and one difficult to find with all its pieces, a working light, and in this condition (NEAR MINT). The only thing I can find amiss is that the original owner applied the cat and dog litho on the awning over the front door upside down. I'm not going to try and remove and reposition this as I'm fearful the litho might tear. The light operates on 2 AA batteries (not included).

Note: Due to the number of small parts and the presence of small magnets, these toys were designed for children ages 5 years and up. They DEFINITELY should not be given to children under age 3 as the parts are too small for them to easily manipulate and they pose a choking hazard.

I will be thoroughly Q-tip cleaning this set prior to sending it to its new owners. My sets are IMMACULATE!

This particular offering weighs 15 oz. UNWRAPPED. My location is Lafayette, IN (47905). Due to the size and weight of this offering, I will probably be sending it via the USPS. I'm more than willing to combine auctions to save the buyer on shipping.

I primarily utilize Fed Ex Home Delivery for items exceeding 5 lbs. in weight, measuring greater than 12 inches in any dimension, or traveling longer distances. I’ve been finding Fed Ex has been running @33% cheaper than the USPS (including Parcel Post) and UPS Ground. FYI, another benefit of using either Fed Ex or UPS is that their quote includes up to $100 worth of FREE insurance. Additional amounts of insurance may be purchased for a nominal fee (that is much less than the USPS). Fed Ex also provides automated tracking updates re: your parcel’s whereabouts directly to your personal e-mail account.

In order to ship Fed Ex (or UPS for that matter), I MUST have a residential or work place address, NOT a P.O. Box number, as well as a home or cell phone. Otherwise, they will not accept the shipping paperwork or transport your item.
Since Bonanza's shipping calculator does NOT offer Fed Ex Home Delivery as a shipping option, PLEASE DO NOT SEND PAYMENT UNTIL I HAVE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO MANUALLY CHECK THESE RATES AND INSERT THEM INTO YOUR INVOICE. Otherwise, the shipping calculator may overcharge you.

Packages traveling to Alaska or Hawaii will be shipped Parcel Post via the USPS. Insurance and delivery confirmation are required.
