There are two types of self-winding watches that Waltham made, this one has a free turning crown, is set in motion wound by the movement of your wrist. The crown, when pulled out,enables you to set the hands. Turning the crown, otherwise, will no way affect your watch. The original box has some wear damage, look at pictures.
