Vtg 1970s Pan Am Captain Men Pilot Uniform and 50 similar items

The men's captain pilot uniform was custom-made by Murphy Hartelius, Tailors of Taste, located in San Mateo, California. Because the suit was custom-made there are no labels with sizes. I have measured the suit and think that the suit coat is around a Men 41 Tall and the pants are 35-32. The suit coat has a label with my uncle's initials. The suit is made of high-quality heavy fabric and weighs around 4 lbs. There are signs of wear in the lining consistent with its age, but it is in good vintage condition. The clip-on tie that is included with the ensemble measures 16" in length and is 3 1/2' wide. There is not a label showing who made the tie, but there is a label that shows the fabric is a polyester/wool blend. The back of the tie is secured with staples, which was common in the 60s and 70s. There are two pilot shirts made by Van Heusen. Both are short-sleeved men's Tall 16 1/2". One shirt has a blue label with "The Aviator". It does not have pleated pockets like the newer versions. There is a place to stow your pen in the pockets. Please note there is a light stain on the back. The other shirt has a blue label with "Van Heusen". It has pleated pockets with a place to put your pen. Completing the ensemble is a captain's pilot hat. The hat was made by Bancroft Pak-Cap and is a size 7 5/8. The top measures 10 1/2" in diameter. The inside has a clear plastic liner. The inside sports a vintage 1970s embossed label with my uncle's name. Please note that the lining has some tears, as shown in the photos. Also, the top of the hat shows signs of use, as it has some smudges and is slightly yellowed. Unfortunately, I do not have the hat badge or pilot wings that go with the uniform.
