Item description
This is an authentic World War II-era military utility knife, produced by the PAL Cutlery Company. A common sight among U.S. Navy and Marine Corps personnel, the RH-36 is an "interim design" that bridge the gap between civilian hunting tools and specialized combat blades. It features a robust 6-inch carbon steel blade with a distinctive clip point and a deep fuller—often colloquially called a "blood groove"—to reduce weight while maintaining strength. Its handle is constructed from a classic stacked leather grip, accented by decorative red and black spacers near the guard, and topped with a heavy, rounded aluminum pommel. This specific example includes its original weathered leather sheath, a testament to its history as a rugged, multi-purpose tool used throughout both theaters of the war.
