Chopsticks have been and still are the common eating utensil all over Asian, not just China. They are held in the dominant hand and may pick up pieces of food. They were invented before the Shang Dynasty (1766-1222 BCE) but other evidence also indicates they may have appeared before then. So it is obvious why the Chinese have had such beautiful storage options for their favored eating tool. This chopstick holder is from the Qing Dynasty and in beautiful condition with only slight signs of age. Mount on the wall to hold chopsticks or flowers. Beautiful.
