This United States First Day Cover (FDC) features the Scott #Q1 8-cent United Nations Trusteeship Council stamp issued on October 23, 1959. The cover bears a clear "First Day of Issue" postmark from United Nations, New York, dated 9 AM, October 23, 1959. The official First Day City is United Nations, New York.
The cachet is an Artmaster design showcasing a detailed monochrome illustration of the Trusteeship Council chamber with delegates seated and the iconic United Nations emblem prominently displayed. Below the chamber image is a smaller illustration of the UN headquarters building. The cachet is captioned "8 United Nations Trusteeship Council" with the date "October 23, 1959" printed beneath.
