I'm usually very hesitant about jumping into a new server operating system. Microsoft did in outstanding job on making sure everything within 2016 with solid, fast, and easy to use. I'm very happy with this operating system.

You need a free downloaded ISO from MS. That is all there is to it. You need a suitable server of course, or VMware Workstation for your PC. You put in the key purchased, maybe get some educational resources or books on MS server, and its up and running. Easy peasy.
