About the artist:
Jim Mooney (1919?2008) was a versatile and long-serving comic book artist whose career spanned over five decades and touched nearly every major genre in the industry. He began working in comics in the 1940s, contributing to early science fiction and superhero titles for companies like Fox and Fiction House before moving to DC Comics, where he became known for his clean, polished style. Mooney drew Supergirl stories in Action Comics for over a decade and was a regular contributor to Batman, Detective Comics, and World?s Finest, helping to define the Silver Age look of DC?s heroes. In the late 1960s, he transitioned to Marvel, where he found new acclaim inking John Romita Sr. on The Amazing Spider-Man and later penciling and inking the wall-crawler?s adventures in Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man. His Marvel credits also include work on Omega the Unknown, Man-Thing, Ghost Rider, The Defenders, and Ms. Marvel, among many others. Known for his adaptable style and dependable craftsmanship, Mooney brought a sense of clarity and emotion to every page he worked on. He remained active in the industry into the 1990s and was celebrated for his contributions to both superhero and horror comics.
