This is a fabulously ornate vintage butter or sauce dish. Gold plated metal with elegant rococo style garlands, ribbons, and floral motifs. Blue cobalt glass liner. Attached underplate. Lid with top finial. Has Japanese marks on the bottom. Possibly made in the first half of the 1900s? About 6 1/2" x 8" measured on the underplate base The cobalt glass is 6" x 4" x 1 1/2" Looks like something off of royalty's table! Very fancy! Overall, in very nice condition. A few small minor areas of slight wear to plating, but not noticeable. The glass liner is excellent. From a smoke-free home.
