Sewing Pattern (Pattern Only) Past Patterns #1662: 1898 Girl's Dress This pattern was copied from an original Butterick pattern dated 1898. According to the description on the antique pattern envelope, "To be made with a high neck and full-length sleeves, or with a square neck and short sleeves." You may also remove the bretelles at the shoulders for a less flamboyant look. The original dress was made in either silk taffeta, satin, cotton calico or a light weight wool. This multi-sized pattern pattern is available in sizes two through eight. Sleeved version fabric requirements in 45 inch wide fabric: Size 2 is 3-2/3 Yds.; sizes 3-5 is 3-7/8 Yds.; sizes 6-8 is 4-1/4 Yds. Sleeveless version fabric requirements in 45 inch wide fabric: Size 2 is 3-1/4 Yds.; sizes 3-5 is 3-3/8 Yds.; sizes 6-8 is 3-3/4 Yds.
