There is a rose pattern around the portrait. This is definitely a European piece a number of countries used an 800 silver standard. This portrait looks like it is painted on a celluloid and glued to a thick paper backing. There are no touch marks or maker marks. This piece is marked 800 on the back in 2 places. The chain is marked 925 and Italy and definitely added to this piece at a later time. The bail is large enough to accommodate a thicker chain. The crystal in this piece is a lucite not glass. The condition is very good no damage to crystal, no damage to silver frame or chain. There are some scratches to the back cover over the portrait interior. I HAVE TAKEN THIS PIECE APART TO CLEAN IT THOROUGHLY AND INSPECT THE PAINTING CLOSER.
