This is a gorgeous and rare length of antique silk embroidered ribbon trim. 4 YARDS. 1 3/8" wide. My mom purchased it at a Paris flea market as a memento. Silk - I did a burn test on a tiny snippet and it is a natural fiber. Def feels and looks like silk. Flower and berry design, with narrow geometric border. I see a William Morris influence, so I could possibly date to the Arts and Crafts Movement / late 1800s / Early 1900s. The embroidery is muted purple, dusty pink, green, muted gold on black. Excellent condition overall, with one disclosure: Stain/discoloration on one area - about 3" long, and about 17" from one end.
